Oracle

I was hired as a Visual Designer in the Server Technologies and Related Tools User Experience Group, working on visual elements for the suites of internal and external products. This work involves creating icons, page flows, screen designs, and designing site pages.
Icon Work
Back in 2004, the Usability group at Oracle decided to build an in-house team to focus on creating and maintaining icons so that there would be a consistent look and feel. The BLAF (Browser Look And Feel) standards were mostly written, and periodic reviews were conducted to ensure consistency. There was an icon repository available to the general developers, as well as an internal website where people can browse through the existing icons, and make requests to create new ones. I was part of the team of visual designers that maintained this icon repository.
