A 13-year old internally built system that allowed users to view and measure customer profitability, ProfitMAX was a redesign project that was to be completed in three phases. The software was largely view-only, but did provide limited capability for update functions. I was on board for the second and the beginning of the third phase.
The design was fixed from the first phase, and the challenge was to apply existing design patterns to the rest of the feature set as business requirements progressed. In some cases, new patterns needed to be created, or existing ones modified, to address business need. Aside from working closely with business analysts and subject matter experts for the most effective design, I also worked with the development teams to ensure the design specs matched what was built.
Achievements
A portal for employees, iCEO included customizable gateways to the User's most used apps (such as ProfitMAX or CreditView), and links to lines of business (LOB) specific news that pertain to the User's area of expertise. The project I was on was a feature release that delivered a richer news experience. Besides being part of a successful launch, I also submitted two design patterns into the developer toolkit: Drag and Drop, and a two-pane list interface.
myWorkday addressess the findings from an ethnographic study outlining that Relationship Managers must access between six to twelve applications daily (and repetitively) just to make vital decisions. This project was a proof of concept to investigate whether a type of dashboard is feasible, and what such a dashboard will entail. In tandem with the business analyst, I conducted multiple User interviews and designed a working prototype that was presented to the executive team.
Used to monitor and update credit reports and wholesale lines of credit, CreditView is on an aggressive release cycle. I was part of the steering committee on improving CreditView as a whole, and as a designer on one of the scrum teams, I recommended improvements to search.
As a new GUI to the Trust Payment Systems of Record, this project needed substantial design help. As a designer for the second phase of a three phase project, I designed the following sections of the app: File Upload, Payments and Reports.
